Position is responsible for ensuring the evaluation of due diligence information at account inception, and periodic updates throughout the customer relationship, in order to effectively evaluate customers' risks. This position is directly responsible for transactional analysis of the entire client relationship as applicable for due diligence reviews to evaluate the customer's risk and determine if the current risk rating is sufficient. This includes verifying the collection of all necessary data from the research group, gathering more credit/debit/wire samples as necessary; contacting branch personnel as necessary for additional information; reviewing the past case history of the client; completing in-depth Internet research, including negative news searches; determining, based on account activity, if the account is transacting as expected for the entity type. This position will also be responsible for noting any unusual or possibly suspicious activity and referring that information to the SAR Mailbox. The position will assist with anti-money laundering compliance initiatives by providing support to the Due Diligence Manager.

Essential Job Duties

  • Ensure CDD is collected at account inception, and is periodically updated during the customer relationship.

  • Ensure accurate data collection to comply with the bank's Customer Identification Program (CIP).

  • Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews of all high risk customers, including reviews of account activity, CDD, interviews with relationship managers, etc.

  • Identify potential high risk customers.

  • Assist with other projects as directed by division manager.

  • Perform customer screening for money service businesses, politically exposed persons, OFAC, FinCEN 314(a), negative news, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree in Business, Finance or other related discipline or equivalent banking experience may be substituted

  • Minimum 2 years BSA/AML experience required

  • Industry certification preferred (CAMS, CFE, etc.)

  • Willing to attend continuing professional education in BSA/AML compliance

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels

  • Must demonstrate strong research and analytical skills, with attention to details

  • Must be well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and manage deadlines

  • Proactive and must be able to work independently

  • Willing to attend continuing professional education in BSA/AML compliance
