Position Summary:

The Emergency Department Technician II is responsible to the Department Director, Lake Health and its clients for providing efficient, safe and quality patient care including observation and recording of relevant information of patient's condition.

Essential Job functions:

Collection and documentation of patient chief complaint, vital signs, accurate weight, and any changes noted in patient condition. All information is reported to patients' primary RN or physician.

Provide patient treatment with appropriate equipment under the direction and supervision of a physician, a physician assistant designated by a physician or a registered nurse designated by a physician and ensure safety protocols are followed. All treatments are documented in Soarian.

All treatments are documented in Soarian by the providing tech.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patients, behavioral health population needs, and maintaining a safe environment for all staff, patients and visitors.

Maintain a clean, safe and orderly environment for patients, staff and visitors; including proper use, storage and stocking of equipment.

Assist with the admission, departmental transport, or discharge of patients by providing timely, efficient and safe service under the direction and supervision of a physician, a physician assitant designated by a physician or a registered nurse designated by a physician.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of paramedic program in the state of Ohio.

License/Certification: Must hold a current, unrestricted paramedic certificate to practice in the state of Ohio.

Proof of American Heart Association Basic Life Support training required at the time of hire. AHA ACLS, and PALS training required within 6 months of employee start date. CPI certification required within 6 months of start date. Completion of MICN training required within 1 year of start date.
