Responsibilities

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship (JMI) at FSU is seeking a motivated Student Intern to assist in an Economic Impact Survey. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data collection and analysis within the realm of entrepreneurship and economic development. This is a paid position working 15 - 20 hours per week, beginning in Summer 2024 and running through Fall.

Responsibilities:

• Data Collection: Assist in collecting data through various channels, including online surveys, email outreach, participant phone interviews, and searching online public records databases and individual and company profiles.

• Data Entry: Ensure accurate and efficient entry of survey responses and other relevant data into designated databases or spreadsheets.

• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on collected data to maintain high levels of accuracy and reliability.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of survey responses, ensuring proper documentation for future analysis and reporting.

• Communication: Collaborate with team members to address any data-related issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Flexibility: Adapt to changing project needs and priorities while effectively managing time and workload to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student at Florida State University and at least one year completed.

• Strong data collection skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel. Experience with other databases and statistical software programs is beneficial.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Interest in entrepreneurship and economic impact research preferred.
