Manager, eCommerce/Site Merchandising (Contractor)
The Manager, eCommerce/Site Merchandising is responsible for defining and overseeing execution of a Merchandising strategy (across Web & App) that is consistent with brand and business goals, and delivering a world-class customer experience. The person in this role will also work to optimize funnel conversion and key pieces of site functionality (such as navigation menus and filters), and serve as the business lead for select eCommerce Roadmap projects. This position will report to the Director of eCommerce and work closely with the GMs, Merchandising, Brand and Integrated Marketing, Pricing & Promotions, and Creative Services teams as well as partnering with Product Management, UX, and Engineering. This position will have 2 direct reports, and is based in our Redwood City, CA location.
Work closely with the GM's and Integrated Marketing to understand the business goals for the brand and product category(ies).
Partner with Merchandising to ensure that products objectives are being translated onto Site and App representations in a way that's consistent with their strategies.
Oversee the creative development process (creative briefs, creative reviews, shot lists) across all devices/platforms for brand(s) managed. Deliver feedback at creative reviews on creative/copy that does/doesn't meet business goals. Provide direction for prioritization of site projects for creative. Develop site standards
Partner with PM, Engineering, UE and Web Dev teams to ensure technical support for and execution of eCommerce features and functionality, site usability, and the overall customer experience. Have a deep understanding of the underlying technical infrastructure of the site(s).
Monitor, meet and report on ecommerce KPI's (conversion, bounce/exit, cart abandon, RPV, brand/category revenue, etc.) across devices, pages and customer segments, and be able to explain the business drivers behind fluctuations in these metrics. Lead monthly/quarterly business reviews for the site(s).
Contribute ideas for testing based on analysis of site data. Drive innovation and optimization through testing and application of eCommerce best practices. Support testing by leading the merchandising strategy for the test
Ensure all new products launch on the site (and across devices) on time and meet business goals. Review key page/category metrics (conversion, exit, revenue, trim attach & revenue, ABN usage, etc.) to continuously optimize the strategy for visual merchandising
Deep knowledge of eCommerce best practices; strong merchandising "eye".
Strong people manager with a demonstrated track record of building, leading, developing and retaining effective teams
Partners well cross-functionally and develops efficient processes for feedback and collaboration. Leads but also builds consensus as needed
Strong creative, analytical and intuitive problem-solving skills. Can foresee potential issues/setbacks and proactively develop plans to address/ contingencies
Well-versed in site analytics and proficient in analyzing data for eCommerce decision making.
8+ years experience in merchandising, marketing or eCommerce for top-tier consumer brands. Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
