As a critical member of the Information Technology team, the E-Commerce Platform Manager serves as a strategic partner between IT and targeted business functions for large scale, strategic business and IT initiatives. Possessing a high degree of business and technical acumen, assesses current business capabilities and recommends the appropriate platform solution.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Owns technical architecture of all solutions running on technical platform

  • Attends Cross Platform/Cross BRM and CAB meetings to represent team's changes and interests

  • Release management considering project dependency, cost efficiency and platform synergies

  • Drive selection process for technical solutions through comprehensive technical assessment

  • Manage technical delivery, including 3rd party SI selection via RFP

  • Owns SOW approval.

  • Contribute to govern IT resource approval, prioritization and resource planning efforts for enhancements

  • Manage execution from design, development, testing, deploy and Hyper care/ KT to IT Operations

  • Fully utilize current platform functionalities before bringing new solutions in.

  • Drive cost reduction by proactively eliminating duplicative technical solutions (or cost avoidance by ensuring non-duplicative future architecture)

  • Partners with Business Relationship Managers to ensure an optimal solution is being provided that meets the needs of the business

  • Accountable for change adoption by selecting and implementing the right technical solution and design

  • Provides guidance and technical leadership to Platform resources

  • Manages the technical resources during execution including System Integration

  • Ability to engineer a platform that provides internal capability to the IT organization

  • Lead a team, mentor and develop capabilities in others; identify short and long-term training and development needs for all team members; participate in the recruitment process and develops Associates for career progression

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Software Engineering Manager in our Lighting Solutions business located in Bohemia, New York. JOB SUMMARY The Software Engineering Manager will have the opportunity to lead a team of engineers and work on groundbreaking designs for aircraft interiors; this role will work within a strong team environment to lead embedded software designs and programming to the forefront. We are looking for an individual who is a leader and self-starter. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage a focused software engineering team on multiple projects and programs. * Assess project feasibility, analyze the resource needs and delegate tasks as required. * Coordinate and direct projects to accomplish goals. * Work with cross functional design team to develop new and maintain existing embedded applications for controlling LED lighting systems and fixtures. * Overall direction, coordination and evaluation of group. * Selection, evaluation and development of staff. * Planning, assigning and directing work flow. * Talent and performance management. * Providing daily leadership to staff. Lead team to: * Develop test applications for supporting all phases of development and verification of deliverable applications. * Generate high and low level system and software requirements based on customer specifications. * Design, implementation and verification documentation for both internal use and delivery to customer. * Develop, implement, analyze, measure, test and validate color mixing equations, algorithms, coefficients, etc. for LEDs to system and product specifications, * Create and conduct algorithm assessments, characterization, testing and verification. * Evaluate and apply new developments and technologies, develop and support new internal color software applications * Collaborate with hardware, operations, quality, test equipment and manufacturing engineers to define and implement manufacturing test procedures/processes * Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience. * 2 plus years of related software/design experience * Skill level in C/C++. Proficient in C#. * Experience with communication and networking protocols as applied in embedded environment (RS-485, RS-232, I2C, SPI, UART drivers, etc.) * Developing software within an embedded environment, including strong knowledge of multiple microcontroller architectures * Experience with source code archiving methodologies * Practical experience with MS Visual Studio and object oriented design practices * 15% travel required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * 10+ years experience. * BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a Software focus or background. * DO-178 experience.
