Job Summary

As the eCommerce Content Manager you are responsible for overseeing the creation, management, and optimization of online content for our ecommerce platform. This role involves strategic planning and execution to enhance user experience and maximize profitability. You will work closely with the marketing, product management, and user experience design teams to ensure that all content is aligned with our brand standards and business objectives.

Primary Functions

  • Content Strategy Development.

  • Develop a comprehensive website content strategy that aligns with the store's overall marketing and sales goals.

  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to tailor content that meets customer needs and preferences.

  • Content Creation and Management.

  • Oversee the planning, creation, and editing of content for store websites (byustore.com & gocougs.com), including ads, product descriptions, product images, page graphics, videos, and help pages.

  • Oversee photographers, graphic designers, videographers, content creators, and editors to produce accurate, helpful, and engaging content.

  • SEO Implementation.

  • Create and incorporate an SEO plan into content creation to ensure all content is optimized for search engines to improve visibility and organic search rankings.

  • Monitor SEO trends and adjust strategies accordingly to keep up with changes in search engine algorithms.

  • Performance Monitoring.

  • Utilize analytics tools to monitor content performance and user engagement.

  • Adjust content strategies based on performance data to continually improve reach and effectiveness.

  • Team Management and Collaboration.

  • Lead and mentor a team of content creators and editors.

  • Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure a cohesive and consistent schedule of product availability on the ecommerce websites.

  • Budget and Resource Allocation

  • Manage the content team's budget, ensuring efficient use of sacred resources.

  • Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance content creation and increase efficiency.

  • Other duties and tasks to meet business goals as assigned.

Experience/Education

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years in web content management, including product imaging and graphic design.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field; or 5 years¿ experience in digital content creation and graphic design.

Preferred

  • 3-5 years' experience working in an ecommerce environment.

Skills

Required

  • Proven graphic design and illustration skills.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and digital marketing strategies.

  • Proficient in content management systems (CMS) and SEO tools.

  • Ability to analyze data and provide insights from analytics platforms.

  • HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.

  • Skilled in digital photography, especially product imaging.

  • Keen eye for detail.

Preferred

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP and SuiteCommerce Advanced.

  • Practical experience with developing and implementing SEO content strategies.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and data mining tools.

Employee Class: Administrative

Pay Level: 52

Approximate Starting Salary: $61,500 - $80,000
