The primary role of the eCommerce auction listing associate is listing quality donated items for sale on shopgoodwill.com and ebay.com. The jewelry specialist works with our donated jewelry items to identify the authenticity and value by performing minute observations and unobtrusive experiments to help determine its value and then listing for sale.
Support the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan.
Perform work in a safe manner observing all Goodwill safety policies/procedures.
Perform duties and interact with all Goodwill team members, clients, and customers in a professional manner. Respect the diversity of others including, but not limited to, those with cultural, ethnic, and gender differences, individuals experiencing homelessness, and persons with visible and non-visible disabilities
Maintain goal of posting 22 items per day (minimum).
Write merchandise descriptions with creativity and honesty that adhere to accepted standards and practices.
Take quality photographs of merchandise to be posted.
Accurately weigh and estimate correct shipping method for listed items.
Accurately label and store listed items.
Answer customer questions in a timely manner.
Maintain a high degree of professionalism in written and verbal communications with customers, and business associates.
Maintain a neat and safe work area.
Perform all Shopgoodwill.com functions including packaging and shipping as needed.
Education, Licenses, Certifications and Experience:
High school graduate or GED required.
Experience authenticating fine jewelry, precious metals, coins and watches.
One year of clerical or administrative support experience preferred.
Working knowledge of graphics and e-commerce software beneficial.
Previous experiencelisting item(s) for sale online, such as ebay, etsy.com, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, customers, and people with disabilities.
Knowledge of gemology, designer brands, along with market trends and values.
Above average computer skills with a good working knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel.
Working knowledge of digital photography.
Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all transactions and documentation.
Ability to freely access all areas of Shopgoodwill and e-books stock areas.
Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary.
Self directed with the ability to work independently.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work varied hours and days as business dictates, which may include weekends and holidays.
Works in an environment with occasional high stress, listing goals, and short deadlines.
Stands, walks, and sits throughout the work day.
Routinely bends, stoops, pushes, pulls, reaches forward and upward, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
