General summary: The Ecommerce Analyst and Inventory Planner role will be responsible for building Ecommerce reporting and providing critical analysis and insights based on performance. Using data, insight and analytics you'll partner closely with the website and channel marketing teams to help drive the e-comm and marketing strategy. You'll provide accurate and timely reports that include actionable insights, as well as commentary that helps the teams make informed decisions on future activity. You will also drive the inventory and planning function for SMITH DTC. Working closely with the Sales Operations and Ecommerce teams in building sales plans and SKU forecasts by analyzing trends to ensure financial goals are met.

Essential job functions:

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of Smith Optics' website vs defined KPI's

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing acquisition, retention and loyalty campaigns

  • Evaluate AB test performance across user testing and performance marketing

  • Provide accurate, timely reporting including performance commentary and action orientated recommendations

  • Partner with marketing and e-commerce stakeholders to help build incremental growth strategies

  • Partner with the performance marketing team to develop a clearly defined attribution model

  • Use data and analytics to help solve identified business problems

  • Use data and insight to continuously build a better understanding of our customers and provide recommendations on segmentation strategies.

  • Analyze the seasonal trends for Ecommerce and DTC channel and product category and anticipate potential changes in product and merchandising.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product and Ecommerce to read out results on our Go To Market performance and provide inputs for future campaign launches

  • Collaborate with business leaders and technology peers to identify opportunities where data can be used to create business value.

  • Drive the SKU forecast for Ecommerce and drop ship accounts through data driven analysis of demand, generating a 12-month forecast in coordination with the Ecommerce and planning teams.

  • Collaborate with the Wholesale Planning Team to incorporate buying needs for product shared between all channels

  • Analyze, propose and manage the volumes to be reserved for each channel using the stock category tool

  • Identify opportunities and risks in the business against plan and provide actionable recommendations to positively impact results.

  • Develop tools and approach to continuously improve communication with the Ecommerce and planning teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 3+ years working in a digital marketing analytics role, preferably with an e-commerce retail brand

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to process complex data sets and use statistical analysis to create clear actionable insights

  • Ability to translate complicated data and insight into simple communications and updates, grounded in commercial performance

  • Highly experienced in using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics

  • Familiarity in web analytics tools like Klaviyo, ContentSquare and Qualtrics

  • Highly proficient in use of Excel, SQL, R, Python and Tableau

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing techniques covering SEO, search and display advertising

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English with strong attention to detail

  • Fundamental understanding of Ecommerce KPIs and building best in class reporting

  • Understanding of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing & supply chain issues

  • Team building and collaborative skills with the desire to supply Ecommerce members with the information they need to succeed.

  • The ability to exercise independent judgment & recognize the financial impact to the business

  • Ability to lead, effectively communicate and influence business partners and peers

  • Availability to travel

Education & Experience:

  • Four-year college degree in accounting, finance, statistics, economics, supply chain or other relevant major preferred

  • 3-4 years of ecommerce analysis

  • Experience in the Outdoors or Eyewear is a plus.
