Arcadis is looking for an Environmental Scientist/Ecologist to join our growing team in the Midwest. This position will support field data collection for permitting, planning, wetlands, endangered species and environmental assessment work in the Midwest and will be located in Columbus, Ohio. The position will require a basic understanding of stream/wetland determination/delineation methods, and plant identification skills.
To be successful in this position you must be able to implement assigned scientific tasks independently using established regulatory techniques and methods. This is a great opportunity to work closely with a team of scientists, engineers, and planners supporting an array of projects ( e.g. municipal water and wastewater, oil & gas work, utilities (siting and routing), mining and rail). The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), the ability to work independently but also comfortable working with team members in both the field and remote locations.
Duties to include but are not limited to:
Construction observation related to ecological receptors
Wetland determination/delineation and associated reporting
Flora/fauna surveys and associated reporting
Use of GPS for capturing field data
GIS experience in analyzing, evaluating, and preparing information
Travel will be required for this position
USACE approved wetland delineation training
Wetland delineation experience
