Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Provide outstanding customer service to faculty, staff and students through the administration and support of Windows and macOS in a 24/7 client-server environment.

Responsibilities:

Under general direction of the Event and Classroom Management Public Computing Manager, with latitude for independent judgement and initiative as a professional member of a servicefocused team:

  • Respond to requests for support of our printing and computer fleet via service tickets, telephone, email, and in-person requests. Provide rapid, responsive technical support across the River Campus, including classrooms, labs, libraries, and event spaces.

    Monitor ticketing system for daily workflow and problem diagnosis and resolution of the Public Computing fleet. Visit locations in person to note and correct issues that cannot be detected remotely.

  • Perform computer installations and maintenance as part of a team for all of the public computers across River Campus in classrooms, labs and libraries.

  • Participate in computer condition review and maintenance for assigned classroom locations. Collect data and analyze metrics related to computer, printer, and application utilization.

  • Other duties as assigned. Assist across the ECM team during periods of peak demand including Computing, Events, Conferences and Commencement.

  • Participate in training and other professional development activities; keep abreast of trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related technical field and/ or 2 years' experience with Windows and Macintosh computer management/ imaging/ cloning/ deployment in a networked setting.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to understand client's technology challenges and provide rapid solutions as an active member of a team producing valuable results.

Ability to learn new technologies quickly and train others with best practices. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Technical fluency with Mac and Windows operating systems required. Scripting knowledge, experience with metrics or statistics, and audio-visual system experience a plus.

Applies comprehensive electronic discovery protocols as defined by the company. Manages assigned requests for electronic data sources (including databases) for forensic investigations related to litigation, regulatory matters, compliance, employee investigations and security incidents.
