Position Summary

Are you seeking a dynamic academic position that is focused on teaching students in a diagnostic medical sonography program? If so, the VCU Department of Radiation Sciences Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is seeking an adjunct instructor for our Introduction to Echocardiography course/lab (CLRS 498).

CLRS 498, Introduction to Echocardiography is a 15-week course offered in the Fall (Aug-Dec) semester on Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. - 3:50 p.m. during which didactic and laboratory sessions are held.

This position is aligned with the missions of the college and university focusing on providing optimal student experiences and learning opportunities as we support the next generation of diagnostic medical sonographers.

Required Qualifications

• ARDMS RDCS (AE, FE, or PE) and/or CCI certification

• Five years of experience working as a registered cardiac sonographer

• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an adjunct faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience instructing in classroom and laboratory setting

• Experience teaching undergraduate health professional students

• Experience using Canvas learning management system
