We are looking for compassionate, caring people to join our great staff of health care providers as we continue to grow. # The Echocardiogram Sonographer performs echocardiograms, two dimensional and M-mode with color flow Doppler and Doppler echocardiography on adult and pediatric patients.# Performs stress echocardiograms, Pharmacological stress testing and assists with Transesophageal echocardiograms on adult patients.# Demonstrates the ability to assimilate data, perform calculations, and provides cardiac rhythm monitoring of patients.# Performs procedures on patients ranging from infants to patients in later maturity. # Job Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned): # ###


Performs Echocardiograms which involves quality diagnostic scanning of patients in the echo lab#or patient room.# The patient is positioned on the echo bed by the technician performing the#procedure:# 80% of the procedure time is spent on the scanning function. # ###


Assimilates data and performs calculations for interpretation.# Collect all the data for the echo study#to be viewed for the interpreting physician.# Studies will be transferred to the electronic#storage/reading station for physician interpretation. # ###


Assists the physician with the Transesophageal Echocardiogram # the technician must be present#to operate the Echo machine and collect all pertinent data. # ###


Demonstrates the ability to effectively perform treadmill studies. # ###


Participates on departmental and/or hospital performance improvement teams as appropriate. # # # Education and Experience


High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Graduate of an accredited#school for medical sonographers preferred.# ###


For GED candidates, two years clinical experience in related cardiology field preferred. # # Certificates, Licenses, Registrations ###


Certification required within 6 months from date of hire and must be kept current:# After receiving

What You Will Do As a Sonography Technologist Associate with Ascension St. Vincent's Health System-IN, you will have the opportunity to perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. Responsibilities: * Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams. * Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures. * Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures. * Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations. * Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate. * Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). * Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department. * Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies. What You Will Need Licenses/Certifications/Registration: * Required Credential(s): * BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. * One or more of the following: * Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date. * Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date. * Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
