Job Summary and Qualifications

The Tech - Vascular performs quality non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations using protocols determined by the Medical Director of the vascular lab and exhibits a exemplary customer service to all patients, family, physician, and hospital staff members.

What you will do in this role:

• Maintains departmental compliance logs.

• Participates in performance improvement processes.

• Obtains quality diagnostic images according to protocol

• Exam orders: ensures all orders have the required 5 elements

• PACS: Scans in and labels documents appropriately, resolve QA issues in a timely manner, ensure images are released to radiologists in a timely manner.

• RIS: ensures orders are valid and entered appropriately, ensures ordering physician is correct, completes exams with accurate information, documents pertinent information.

• Participates in departmental accreditation processes and QA.

• Transports patients as necessary.

• Prepares and disperses preliminary reports as indicated by vascular lab protocol

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Vocational School Graduate

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT)

• B.S. Degree in appropriate discipline preferred.

• Prefer two years working in an acute care hospital setting performing non-invasive vascular ultrasound procedures.
