We are searching for a new Echo Tech for a PRN, as needed, opportunity. Hours will vary and be flexible but will require weekends and some weekday availability, as well.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides quality echo exams for the interpretation of the Cardiologist.

  • Provide quality patient care for patients in the Cardiology Department.

  • Maintain & apply current Echo standards and clinical competency including age competency.

  • Meet the personal and practical needs of patients and families as described in "Patients First Service".

Qualifications:

Experience: One year preferred but will consider recent Echosonography graduate.

Education: Graduate from a program of Echosonography

Special Qualifications:
Current registry credentials or intent to obtain credentials, full knowledge of Echocardiograms, excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Essential Core Functions: * Performs routine roentgengraphic examinations and assists in procedures in other areas of the department. * Prepares barium sulfate solutions and administers them to patients according to physician orders. * Maintains current knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the Imaging Services Department including routine roentgen graphic procedures and fluoroscopy. * Possesses basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology required to apply principles of radiology and methods of exposure to obtain clearly defined films. Possesses basic knowledge of management techniques required to provide supervision for other radiology personnel related to position responsibilities. * Possesses basic knowledge of radiology equipment functioning to provide for minor repair and trouble-shooting for problems. * Possesses specialized knowledge of sterile technique and its application in the invasive procedures performed in the rad department. * Proficient in the utilization of all radiological equipment in the department. * Utilizes communication skills effectively in working with patients, physicians, and other personnel. * Utilizes appropriate body mechanics in moving and lifting patients and equipment to prevent injury to patients and to self. * Applies principles of radiology safety in the performance of position responsibilities. * Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide radiology services to patients served in relation to growth and development over the life span to identify their requirements relative to age-specific needs.
