JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD

Work Shift: (MONDAY - FRIDAY) 7:30AM OR 8:00AM UNTIL 5:00PM OR 5:30PM

Summary of the Job:

Performs various Cardiology procedures - Echocardiograms, Carotid Ultrasounds, Lower Extremity Arterial Studies, Venous Reflux studies, Aorta Duplex Scans, Stress Echocardiograms/Bubble Studies, Holters, and Venous Ablations. Prepares paperwork accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year experience as Cardiology technician required.

Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Allied Health degree with previous on the job training and experience. Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Credentialed with the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) is preferred. ARDMS or RCS must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.

Experience with medical office scheduling. Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work under stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years adult/pediatric echocardiography with Doppler and Color Flow experience. Basic computer skills preferred.

Physical Demands:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.

Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical Effort required:

Constant (67%-100%) - pushing/pulling, balancing, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing

Frequently (34%-66%)- lifting

Occasionally (1%-33%)- carrying, stooping, crouching
