Echo Tech - Cardiovascular Lab, PRN

Shift: Varied shift times and days --flexible scheduling hours

As an Echo Tech at North Knoxville Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Requirements:

• Current BLS from AHA or ARC

• Graduate of an approved program of echocardiography and non-invasive cardiovascular technology.

• At least 1-2 year of previous Echo Tech related experience preferred.

• Registry in echocardiography and by either the American registry of Diagnostic Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International.

• Must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill in the performance of trans-thoracic contrast echocardiograms. Two to three months orientation to department policies, procedures protocols and equipment.

About the Job:

• Performs ultrasound examinations of the heart to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.
  
  A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager.

• Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development across the lifespan and is competent in age-appropriate imaging and patient care. Demonstrated competence of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS.
