ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday
Friday, 7:00 am
4:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, overhaul and maintain all types of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, water pumps, motors, ice machines, water fountains, exhaust fans, electrical circuits and cooling towers. Diagnose causes of problems and/ or failures in HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment for the purpose of identifying repairs and replacement needs.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems and their components. Knowledgeable of absorption and Freon systems and ability to read blueprints and schematics to determine operating sequences of equipment and wiring system. Evaluate and recommend new products that may be beneficial to lower maintenance and operating costs of HVAC equipment.
Coordinate with supervisor and other trades for the purpose of operating projects and work orders efficiently. Computer skills including email and data entry required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Position requires six months to one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency with two (2) years of directly related experience and appropriate certification. Experience with electrical and plumbing repair preferred.
HVAC Technical Certification and EPA Certification required. A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
