Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for an eBike National Sales Manager to join our Smart Power Vehicles Division located in Cypress CA. The National Sales Manager oversees all sales activities to achieve sales and dealer targets for eBike business. This role executes dealer network strategies to grow sales and improve performance and commitment of dealers to Yamaha eBike business. Manages and directs the activities of eBike Field Sales & Marketing team, as well as dealer development (e.g. training and network planning). The National Sales Manager works closely with SPV management and eBike team members to determine the priorities for eBike Field Sales & Marketing Representatives. The position will oversee the effective management of field team's action plans, reporting, target achievement and effective expense management.

What you'll be doing:

  • Sales Planning: Create Annual Sales Plan & Targets by business channel and region working with SPV management based on Mid Term Plan (MTP) and Annual Direction. Create detailed channel, dealer, and partner sales strategies to meet business goals. Contribute to MTP and Annual Budget processes.

  • Sales Management: Lead, motivate and develop a nationwide team of eBike Sales & Marketing Representatives. Work with SPV management and eBike team to set and achieve sales and dealer network targets. Develop, communicate, and implement national and regional sales programs. Organize and operate sales meeting together with eBike team.

  • Field Management: Monitor and report overall sales, market share and key targets for each region. Incentive program development, monitoring and tracking to goals. Approve dealer improvement and development strategies. Monitor regional budget planning and expenses for area marketing, field travel, etc.

  • Communication and Training: Train Sales and Marketing Reps regarding product features & benefits, competition, sales programs and dealer and business initiatives for effective results. Create and/or contribute to periodic training material and presentations. Monitor dealer training participation and tracking (as applicable). Communicate and reinforce strong relationships with dealers, partner companies and businesses.

  • Dealer Development: Develop dealer network goals and targets working with SPV management and team. Provide key priorities and market data to field staff to support new dealer growth. Monitor overall performance of dealer network based on eBike strategy. Work closely with field staff to ensure standards in dealer recruitment and selection. Recommend improvements to dealer network and manage programs and tools needed for support.

  • Market Insight: Provide planning feedback including sales volume projects and forecasts based on changing product and market trends, economic factors, and competition.

  • Provides weekly reporting to management on sales and dealer results vs targets including progress of key programs and initiatives. Activity reporting of feedback from field staff and dealer network including sales, programs, and latest market conditions. Attend and lead key functions at trade shows, events, demonstrations, and sales meetings to strengthen dealer network and grow sales.

Decision Making:

  • Sales and channel strategy creation in conjunction with SPV management

  • Create Incentives and performance management for team of external and internal sales representatives.

  • Oversees Dealer Management and responsible for managing performance of dealer network through Field Sales team.

  • Manage eBike Field Sales & Marketing Representatives and Inside Sales staff.

What you need to be successful:

  • BA / BS degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field of study.

  • Minimum of 7+ years of related industry experience in sales and dealer network management.

  • Knowledge and direct sales experience within the bicycle, powersports, outdoor recreation or related industries.

  • 5+ years of management experience and a track record of developing high performance employees.

  • Ability to understand industry, sales and channel trends, create a strategic sales direction and develop proposals for new programs and initiatives.

  • Must be strategic and forward thinking, and ability to recommend new ideas in increase sales and profitability.

  • Ability to travel as required (approximately 30+%, including weekends)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Superior record of sales experience with proven success.

  • Leader who can effectively direct, manage and motivate a team.

  • Must possess strong oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Must be an energetic self-starter.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Pay Range:

  • 115,000 - 165,000

Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha's Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
