Job Description:

NOCCCD is now accepting applications for an Earth Science Instructor Pool-Part-Time at Fullerton College!

Primary Purpose:

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology

ORBachelor's in geology

ANDMaster's in geography, physics, or geochemistry

ORPossess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area

ORThe equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience teaching relevant Earth Science courses at the college level both in and outside the classroom as well as industry experience as a geologist.

Experience using multi-modal approaches and student-centered pedagogy to meet the needs of first generation, immigrant, and low-income students.

Working Conditions:

Salary Range: $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lecture unit rate, $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lab parity unit rate, $1113.42 - $1221.77 per lab unit rate

Special Instructions Summary: This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date.

If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified. This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
