ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Serve children birth up to their 3rd birthday in their natural environment setting (home, daycare, babysitter, community, etc.)
2.The Early Interventionist (here after referred to as EI) will visit the child in their natural environment and coach the parents or caregivers with information and hands on demonstrations on how to assist the child in reaching their IFSP goals (Individualized Family Service Plan).
3.The EI will visit the home as often as the IFSP states such as weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly for a specified duration of 30 minutes to no more than an hour.
4.Documentation for each home visit is recorded on the state data base website TEIDS. A format will be provided. This documentation has to be recorded on the website within 3 days of the service delivery including the day of service.
5.A physical folder of signed paperwork and other documents will be maintained weekly and monthly as needed. These folders must be ready for review at any given time.
6.EIs must maintain at least a 75% individual attendance. EI will sign an attendance agreement.
7.EI will email a weekly visit log to the supervisor each Friday afternoon unless otherwise specified. A form is provided.
8.EI will be provided a laptop, work cell phone, and company vehicle to drive to and from visits only.
9.Mileage and maintenance will be maintained by EI and turned into the supervisor. A gas card will be given to EI and gas tickets will also be turned into the supervisor.
AEPS testing will be completed on all active children upon initial intake, 6-month review and annual review.
EI will attend quarterly staff meetings in Trenton and other times that are deemed necessary by supervisor.
EI will attend the Building Best Practices Conference yearly at the specified location for a total of 12 training hours.
EI will continually keep him or herself abreast on current knowledge pertaining to the early intervention field.
EIs will collaborate with Service Coordinator regarding planned services for the children. The EI must maintain a good working relationship with all TEIS staff.
All services delivered by the EI must be delivered in a timely manner that is in compliance with TEIS/DOE standards.
EI will review all policies and procedures manual provided by the supervisor.
EI will conduct him or herself in a professional manner during business hours, on all home visits, staff meetings, transition meetings, training conferences and any after-hours visits.
EI will comply with the code of conduct and dress code according to the agency policies and procedures.
A copy of the policies and procedures is always available to all EI staff.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1.Must be a graduate of a four-year accredited college or university with a major in Special Education, Early Childhood education, Elementary Education, or, or a related field as specified in the Department of Education contract.
2.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Overall knowledge of the principles and practices in the field of developmental disability program development and training. Ability to explain, interpret, apply and coordinate effective working relations with a variety of related programs. Ability to participate in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of records and reports.
3.Must possess a safe driving record and a valid driver's license.
