The Early Intervention Facilitator (Vallejo First 5 Center) is a committed partner to caregivers and parents of little ones from 0-5 years old. You support families by hosting warm and inviting screenings where families feel open to discuss their child’s development. You are a strong resource for caregivers and provide approachable ways to help children and families thrive. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and function effectively as part of a team.

  • Full Time/40 hours - Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm (some weekend and evenings may be required but only occasionally and with notice)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development, Special Education, Psychology, or Social Work or equivalent. Experience can be taken over education.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Early Childhood Development
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in early intervention with the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)
  • Ability to create engaging, creative and age appropriate activities for children 0-5 years
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with young children, parents/caregivers, colleagues, and community members of diverse populations
  • Knowledge and ability to use modern office equipment including a personal computer and various software packages.
  • Ability to organize, set priorities, take initiative and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis as a part of setting up and breaking down materials for child watch and curated experiences in the play area

Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • You will conduct ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE screenings
  • You will discuss caregiver questions and concerns about child development, and follow up with referrals to center and county services
  • You will monitor and coordinate ASQ appointments for yourself and staff
  • Review ASQ and ASQ-SE screenings to identify families with children who may benefit from early intervention services and to track developmental progress and areas of regression and delay. 
  • Run developmental and facilitated playgroups as well as other relevant activities.
  • Facilitate workshops and one on one coaching sessions for parents on developmental milestones, positive parenting and other relevant topics.
  • Maintain detailed progress reports and ASQ files.
  • Enter, maintain and review pertinent data for internal and external auditing purposes.
  • Attend appropriate training and workshops.
  • Train and provide coaching to staff about the ASQ screening process
  • Hold occasional ASQ events at the center with other team members
  • As a part of a collaborative team, you will help with center duties as needed.
  • Spanish translation as needed
