As a Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, you will provide intake and assessments, care coordination for early childhood population in therapeutic classroom and childcare program; conducts individual and parent-child psychotherapy; creates and implements social emotional learning skills groups, participates in reflective supervision regarding early childhood mental health experiences and best practices and attends clinical supervision and other meetings as required by program.
Job Overview: Provides culturally responsive intake and assessment using DC: 0-5 and other early childhood screens and assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and care coordination for early childhood population in Preschool Day Treatment program. Population served includes SMSC Community Member children, Scott County Native American children, and SMSC Tribal Operations/Gaming Enterprise employee children. Provides consultation and family therapy to parents/guardians of children served. Provides consultation and follow-up to parents, teachers, and supervisors regarding client progress, development of interventions and recommendations for other services. Document services provided in the electronic health care record system in accordance with the standard of the clinic.
