Harbor is currently looking to add an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to our pediatric/youth team in Toledo. This individual assesses children in childcare and other community settings (e.g. home visits, socialization groups) consistent with an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMH-C) approach, provides social and emotional coaching and modeling, and provides IECMH-C trainings for staff and parents.
Position is part time, 20 hours per week.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Child and Family Studies, Education, or related degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Must reside in the counties listed above.
Professional license in Ohio preferred, but not required (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, etc.).
Candidate is required to earn their Ohio ECMH Professional Credential once eligible; candidate may be required to earn their Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist (OCPS) certification.
Have basic, knowledge, experience and demonstrated level of skill in early childhood development, early care and education and early childhood mental health.
Candidate will have strong attention to detail and be self-motivated and organized, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.
Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:
Provides ECMH-C services to childcare centers, children ages 0-6, and families, including individual and programmatic consultation, home-based services, and/or teacher/community trainings as appropriate or indicated; services provided in home and community settings.
Participates in implementation of early childhood grant funded/contract programs and maintains records in compliance with grant requirements. Appropriately documents services and provides to engaged parties, including families and childcare centers.
Gathers data and assists in preparing reports for funding sources as assigned.
Manages assigned caseload in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with Harbor's policies and procedures.
Participates in staff meetings, team meetings, clinical meetings, mandatory training sessions, and continuing education opportunities.
Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies.
Facilitates referrals to appropriate resources when indicated.
Completes billable clinical services as assigned.
