This full-time (40 hours/week), salaried role will typically work Monday

  • Friday 8 am

  • 4:30p in early childhood centers located in the Normandy, MO area. An active licensure is not required for this role.

What you will do:

Support children with developmental disabilities/delays and their families in St. Louis area early childhood centers.

  • Provide counseling services to children identified with developmental disabilities and/or delays and their families (with 10+ session hours per week)

  • Provide services to children in person (at childcare centers) to develop plans to correct or adjust personal, social or emotional maladjustments related to their educational, developmental or social progress.

  • Develop and implement treatment plans that represent evidence-based, insight-oriented, behavior modifying, supporting and/or interactive therapeutic counseling.

  • Develop and implement treatment plans that are planned, structured and provided using the psychological, psychiatric or interpersonal method most appropriate to the needs of the child and/or family member(s) according to current professional, ethical, and legal standards of mental health practice.

  • Develop and implement treatment directed to accomplish measurable goals and objectives specified in the recipient's individual treatment plan.

  • For adult and parent-focused services, implement treatment directly related to the caregiver's capacity to maintain and/or improve the well-being of the child or children.

  • Maintain a caseload of 24+ children in up to 12 early childcare centers with 10+ session hours per week.

  • Review child's progress on an ongoing basis with formal written reviews weekly or as dictated by individual funding sources

  • Report and discuss child's progress with family and/or primary caregiver

  • Keep accurate session records; prepare reports in accordance with policies of St Louis Arc, including assessment/evaluation, incident reports, monthly progress reports, data collection, and Parent-Teacher meetings.

What we expect of you:

The flexible, relationship-focused therapist we are seeking is professional and compassionate with these qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field

  • Three or more years' experience directly working with birth to 5 years old with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families

  • Experience in early childhood and special education settings

  • Knowledge of treatment modalities used with children and families, including trauma informed care practices

  • Ability to use database systems and computers effectively and efficiently to maintain records

  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and auto insurance at time of hire

  • Ability to build rapport with families, children, teachers and staff
