The coordinator oversees both the childcare and Pregnant and Parenting Program. They are responsible for coordinating care for both the childcare program and the children of the district's teen parents. The coordinator must be aware of the needs of young children and have strong communication skills to support both the program staff and families participating in the program.

Knowledge of:
The developmental needs of young children aged 6 weeks to 30 months
Unregistered childcare program requirements as outlined by the Early Learning Division Office of Childcare Care
Organizational skills necessary to balance the needs of the program including babies, parenting program students, staff, and parents
Ability to:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to mentor and support Parenting Program students
Ability to acquire First Aid/CPR and Food Handlers Card
Ability to pass a Criminal/Fingerprint Background check (fee of $66)
Ability to meet the "Highly Qualified" paraprofessional requirements. (*below for info)
EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience working with young children and the public is desirable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Estimated start date

  • August 23, 2024
    1.0 FTE - 191 day calendar year (plus up to 5 additional days as approved by building principal)
    2024/25 Salary Schedule TBD- DOE and per OSEA Agreement (2023/24 pay scale $16.45-$18.16)
    Excellent fringe benefits$30/month fee for full family insurance (medical, dental, vision)
    $112/month contributed to HRA VEBA to help offset out of pocket medical expenses

Total insurance benefit package of over $21,000 annually

$500/month cash stipend if you have other insurance and waive district insurance

District paid employee contribution to PERS (Public Employees Retirement System)TSD9 covers the full 6% for PERS retirement

Tillamook School District requires that all paraprofessionals be "Highly Qualified". There are 3 ways you can meet these requirements.
Possess an associate's (or higher) degree, or
Complete two years of study at an institute of higher education with a minimum of 72 quarter college credits or 48 semester college credits, or
Pass a local assessment test demonstrating basic knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics skills. (Accuplacer)
