This position is responsible for analyzing the technical requirements and testing of Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics solution sets like reports and self-serve dashboards that integrate with databases, data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes. This role demonstrates strong Enterprise-wide Analytic Products Quality Assurance experience.
The primary focus of the role is Quality Assurance and blueprinting, designing, executing, and maintaining Analytics QA artifacts like Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test cases, Requirements traceability, etc. In addition, the role will adhere to processes and procedures for test automation of Self-Serve dashboards, operational reports, and common data extraction/manipulations. This role directly participates in product development to provide overall Quality Assurance updates and priorities in close collaboration with Architects and Product Leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and Analytics Quality Assurance and Engineering including Automation / manual testing.
- Leads QA efforts on smaller to large size Analytic Product Development
- Accountable for ensuring the quality outcomes of assigned products, QA plans/cases, and requests.
- Defines comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases for manual or automated testing, and leads and actively participates in test case development and execution for assigned projects and requests
- Manage test data. Prepare a test strategy applying industry-accepted practices, tools, and technologies.
- Planning QA test efforts to ensure project requirements are satisfied.
- Participating in a team review of requirements/design documentation and then preparing the overall test strategy and test plan for manual and/or automated testing.
- Implementing and driving technologies and processes that mature DevOps and Test Automation.
- Leading and mentoring other QA analysts to regularly monitor work progress and make sure the QA team is on pace to meet deadlines.
- Developing detailed expertise in the application under test and associated business processes.
- Preparing the test suite for QA execution to ensure the requirements and quality targets are satisfied.
- Create reporting frameworks and actual reports of test results, and set up automated storage and distribution of them.
- Overseeing and contributing to the execution of test cases and the validation of results, managing team workload to meet QA deadlines and productivity targets, and providing first tier of triage for project defects found during test
- Coordinating with Project Managers and/or Strategy Managers to communicate testing tasks and estimates, and to provide clear status updates and risk/issue escalation where needed
- Effectively communicate project QA status to the stakeholders and facilitate meetings
- Identifying and escalating roadblocks as needed and working closely with business and development teams to ensure any roadblocks are eliminated as quickly as possible.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or associate degree courses in programming, data structures, and algorithms, information design, mathematics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in Business Intelligence quality assurance and testing with experience in healthcare.
- 3-5 years of analytics experience.
- 3-5 years of QA experience in agile methods.
- Working knowledge and moderate experience with any of the analytics technologies like Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and SQL Server.
- Ability to perform queries and check test results using Python and SQL.
- Experience testing dashboards and reports in Business Intelligence such as PowerBI and Tableau.
- Experience in designing and executing test plans and cases, identifying and documenting bugs, and collaborating with the development team to ensure the issue gets fixed.
- Ability to provide QA summary reports for any progress issues and risks.
- Automate the testing methodology for any repetitive task.
- Ability to solve problems and issues that are found during QA.
- Experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, visualizing, and disseminating Testing / Assurance information with the utmost accuracy and presentation.
- Experience in conducting and documenting QA testing using problem-solving techniques for analytic and reporting solutions.
- Efficiently manages time-based on the continual evaluation of priorities, meets deadlines with high-quality deliverables reflecting a complete understanding of expectations, and is able to multitask.
