Team / division overview

The footprint of DWS in the MEA region has grown significantly in recent years and is expected to expand further thanks to the extensive coverage of this key market, positioning tailored investment solutions and delivering high service standards to clients. Building on the existing platform, growing the alternatives franchise is a key part of the strategy for the region.

The DWS Alternatives business is a diversified set of business activities with approximately EUR 150bn in assets under management in strategies including Private Real Estate, Private Infrastructure, Alternatives Credit, Liquid Real Assets (Real Estate/Infrastructure and Commodity Securities) and Sustainable Investments. The global team invests on behalf of a global client base that includes governments, corporations, institutional investors, as well as a growing UNHW investor group.

Alternatives Coverage is part of the DWS Client Coverage Division and are the Alternatives Specialists responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of client relationships on behalf of the Alternatives platform and will work closely with the Investment teams, Product Division and broader Global Client Coverage Division.

The position will be based in Paris with a reporting line into the regional head of CCD for MEA.

Role Details

As a Senior Coverage Specialist for Alternatives Credit, MEA you will be responsible for:

• Working with the Head of Alternative Credit Sales and the Head of MEA Coverage on the development of MENA fund marketing plans, including market demand assessment activities, working closely with colleagues in other divisions and around the world

• Managing and supporting the Head of Alternatives Credit Sales and the Head of MEA Coverage in the execution of the sales strategy and capital raising across Alternatives Credit strategies in the MENA region, taking the lead in identified markets (both with respect to fund marketing, but also SMAs and co-investment syndication)

• Developing strong productive relationships with Clients in the Middle East (including distribution partners), supporting the overall strategy

• Direct client outreach in MEA markets to Alternatives Credit stakeholders, allocators and influencers, with a focus on establishing client relationships and creating sales opportunities

• Working closely with teams such as Alternatives Coverage, Product Specialists, Research and Investment Managers to convert sales opportunities into AUM flows

• Supporting the asset class focused Alternatives Coverage teams with MEA Investor Relations activities, including LP Investor Advisory Committee meetings and LP Investor engagement, including Fund AGMs the annual Investor Conferences

• Remaining abreast of industry trends and themes and attending industry conferences/events on behalf of DWS

We are looking for

• Proven track record of sales/fund raising in MEA, with solid experience of covering institutional clients in either buy or sell-side environments

• Strong Alternatives Credit knowledge including strategies such as Direct Lending, CLOs, Infrastructure Debt and Real Estate Debt

• Ability to lead on relationships with MEA based LPs

• Strong networking skills and proactive approach to working with colleagues across the business, but equally adept at working autonomously

• Highly structured approach with project management skills

• Ability to connect and build strong relationships with others, highly developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills

• Highest ethical standards, integrity and discipline

• Clear interest in ESG, with a preference for candidates with relevant experience

• Language (s): English - Arabic would be a plus
