At DWS, good compliance is everybody's responsibility. The Compliance department's core functions support good compliance practice to prevent and detect violations of all applicable laws, rules and principles that observe high standards of individual behavior and business conduct.

Working closely with the business, compliance professionals ensure that our risk based program is both globally effective and locally anchored to our key divisional businesses. As an independent and robust second level control function, the Compliance Department seeks to manage compliance risk and deepen the culture of compliance at Deutsche Bank through the development and management of strategies that are sustainable and increases the trust of our clients.

The Mutual Fund Compliance team is responsible for providing on-going Compliance support to the U.S. mutual funds advised by the DWS organization. You will assist with the preparation of board materials for various Boards of U.S. mutual funds and collective investment trusts and the review and analysis of various surveillance reports to ensure compliance with the applicable laws.

You will assist in all aspects of fund board reporting, as well as reviewing daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly surveillance reports to ensure compliance with the Investment Company Act of 1940, other federal regulations and internal limits. In addition, you will be responsible for the following oversight functions for the DWS organization; a) monitoring sub-advisor and service provider activity to ensure compliance with the federal securities laws; b) assisting with the customer complaint collection process, and the reporting to various regulators and internal work-streams and c) assisting with various other related tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interface with internal and external contacts for resolution of process discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Monitor and escalate aging issues and unresolved disputes to management

  • Provide written commentary on outstanding open issues

  • Identify and escalate open issues that represent risk

  • Build a strong relationship with the client, understanding their needs and business operations

  • Understand business and regulatory requirements and ensure functions are being performed in those requirements

  • Participate in Departmental projects and initiatives

Service Provider / Sub-advisor Oversight:

  • Collection of quarterly certifications from service providers, escalation, tracking and reporting of issues

  • Review and tracking of transactions reports received from the transfer agent

  • Review of service provider and sub-advisor due diligence questionnaires, escalation, tracking and reporting of issues

  • Collection of annual service provider vendor scorecards, analysis and reporting of results

  • Preparation of reports/memos for US sub-advisor oversight committee and other various committees, sub-committees and working groups

  • Review, tracking and escalation of weekly and monthly blue sky and fund sales reports

  • Coordination with product management, legal and NRS to identify and report fund changes


  • Collection and reporting of metrics for quarterly compliance reports and other reports upon request

  • Collection of responses to due diligence questionnaires and RFPs

  • Ad hoc reporting

  • Perform additional Board Reporting tasks as assigned

  • Loading of required records to electronic recordkeeping system

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics combined previous relevant years of finance industry experience. Alternatively, previous relevant years of experience in the finance industry is required

  • Knowledge of securities and financial instruments

  • Knowledge and familiarity with SEC regulations, including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and Investment Company Act of 1940

  • Strong problem solving and/or analytical skills

  • Proficiency in financial applications

  • Strong relationship abilities with internal departments

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong PC skills to include experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Thoroughness and attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve group targets

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work well independently

Working closely with the Vice President of Operations Compliance, the DRC will serve as the principal Compliance contact for the area and regional operations and clinical personnel, in the DRC’s assigned geographic zones of responsibility. The DRC will be expected to build and nurture productive working relationships with area and regional operations and clinical personnel. The DRC will also serve as a source of compliance guidance and assistance on applicable Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE regulations; will provide compliance-related education to Healogics personnel at individual Wound Care Centers and at the area and regional level; and will conduct or oversee investigations originating through our Ethics and Compliance Hotline. The DRC will also have responsibility for helping to ensure Healogics’ full compliance with our Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA). This job is home-based but requires at least quarterly travel to Jacksonville, Florida, and frequent travel within the DRC’s assigned geographic zones, potentially 50-75% travel. Responsibilities: * Builds effective working relationships by collaborating with and influencing business leaders, diverse team members and clinicians, and business partners. * Ensures that the Company’s operations are conducted in compliance with ethical business practices, applicable state and federal health care laws and regulations, organizational policies, and other laws and regulatory requirements. * Assists in the implementation of the Code of Conduct and associated policies. * Works in tandem with operations and clinical leadership, and attends regional and area leadership meetings and calls. * Conducts, oversees, or assists with prompt investigation of allegations of non-compliance, collaborating with other Healogics departments and hospital partners as appropriate to minimize institutional risk. * Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and ensures that corrective action plans are developed and implemented when compliance issues are revealed by investigations, audits, and other mechanisms. * Develops and provides compliance-related education and guidance to clinicians and operators on topics such as the False Claims Act; the Anti-Kickback Statute; Stark Law; Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and other applicable federal health care program requirements; the CIA; the Code of Conduct; and internal policies and procedures. * Prepares and assists in drafting reports on compliance investigations and issues. * Communicates with and updates senior leadership regularly and as appropriate. * Provides assistance and guidance to other members of the Compliance Department. * Performs other duties as required.
