Oversee and support the work of Safety Specialists and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Specialists, providing guidance and assistance to ensure safe and efficient operations and that daily tasks like audits and inspections are completed as assigned
Monitor and ensure strict compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, TSA, and company-specific policies
Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the station's safety culture by promoting best practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions
Collaborate with operational leaders to identify, investigate, and resolve safety issues, ensuring that root causes are accurately determined, and effective corrective actions are implemented
Conduct and oversee safety investigations, incident/accident analyses, and risk assessments, providing expert guidance and recommendations
Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for team members, ensuring that all personnel maintain the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely
Facilitate and participate in station safety committee meetings, addressing safety concerns raised by employees and stakeholders
Monitor and manage GSE allocations, ensuring that equipment levels remain sufficient for safe and efficient operations, and escalate any deficiencies to station leadership
Oversee the proper staging and maintenance of GSE at gates and remote locations to ensure safe and on-time operations
Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of GSE-related reports, audits, and documentation
Manage the equipment return-to-use process, verifying that equipment is in proper working condition following repairs or maintenance
Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and communications during their shift, providing timely and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders
Maintain open, transparent, and effective communication channels with team members, fostering an inclusive, engaged, and high-performance work environment that aligns with the company's values
Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging safety trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement

Able to work varied shifts; weekends and holidays, we like to celebrate and have fun with our family and friends, we simply adjust when we do these things and don't mind doing so.
Obtain and maintain an airport security clearance, customs seal, and/or USPS security clearance including background criminal history check, drug screen, and fingerprinting is required.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. or disclose their compensation or the compensation of other employees or applicants are also protected by law.
A valid driver's license with a good driving record is always required.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver's license and one of the following documents in order to obtain a Port Badge and US Customs Security clearance.

Unexpired US Territory Passport and I-94
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements Important update for non-crew employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, aviation safety, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in airline ground handling operations required, with at least 1 year in a safety/training/GSE-related role preferred
In-depth knowledge of safety management systems (SMS), risk assessment methodologies, and accident/incident investigation techniques
Strong understanding of OSHA, FAA, TSA, and other relevant safety regulations and requirements
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs
Proficient in using various safety management software and tools
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous safety coverage
Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
Salary Range (if applicable):
The hiring range for this position is expected to be $67,725 - $93,580 per year. The current full salary range for this position is $67,725 to $83,500 per year.
