The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a Duo MFA Product Owner. The Duo MFA Product Owner is responsible for leading the product strategy, development, and enhancement of the Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solution. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity, identity and access management, and product management principles to ensure the Duo MFA product meets the needs of the organization while aligning with the overall business objectives. The individual in this role will provide overall implementation and direction into the MFA and IAM functions across the organization, including areas such as access management, authentication and authorization, and security and provisioning identity data. The incumbent will work closely with cybersecurity, service desk, systems engineering, network security, audit, application developers, and other administrators in creating functional, scalable, and secure MFA operations. They will oversee the creation and management of university IDs for faculty, staff, and students and the IAM infrastructure to guarantee secure and efficient access to information systems and resources.

  • Develop and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Duo MFA solution.

  • Oversees IAM activities, methodologies, and solutions around access control, authentication, authorization, account provisioning, approvals, and workflows; develops IAM governance documentation such as policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

  • Identify, evaluate, and participate in decision making around new and emerging IAM/MFA technologies and should be able to support other areas of Information Security as needed.

  • Lead MFA engineering strategy and execution, which includes setting direction for engineering efforts, driving technology selection (including buy vs build decision) and being actively involved as the functional technical leader during implementation.

  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of troubleshooting and configuring applications, MFA endpoints, and API integrations.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in authentication and authorization capabilities.

  • Participate in installing, upgrading, configuring and evaluating new MFA products including mobile and biometrics.

  • Provide expert level security consultation on internal projects focusing on business needs, security's role in change management, and how data is transmitted internally and externally.

  • Evaluate and monitor project efforts, timelines, and task management.

  • Partner with internal business units to ensure projects remain on target, within budget, and are completed according to internal policies and security standards.

  • Delegate tasks to ensure areas projects are carried through timely and effectively.

  • Ensures employees are trained in controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.

  • 10+ years' Information Security experience with at least 5 of those years focused on Duo or other multi-factor authentication solutions (RSA SecureID, SecureAuth, Ping , OAAM etc.).

  • Extensive experience with securing, hardening, and maintaining systems with multi-factor capabilities like Duo security, Yubikey or RSA SecureID.

  • Expert understanding on MFA constructs within Cloud environments.

  • Expert understanding and demonstrated use of DevOps tools with CI/CD capabilities.

  • Expert level experience with databases, LDAP and directory services, application servers, single sign on (SSO), privileged access management (PAM), operating systems, and network infrastructure.

  • Solid technical background in J2EE and vendor-based applications.

  • Experience architecting IAM/MFA solutions within Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and, preferably, other cloud providers.

  • Experience with administration or implementation in AWS public cloud and on-prem private cloud technologies.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly in the area of identity and access management.

  • Proven experience in product management, preferably in the cybersecurity or software industry.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable product plans.

  • Data-driven decision-making skills with the ability to analyze metrics and trends.

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and product management tools.
