Dump Truck Driver

Position Summary Branch Civil is searching for a reliable, safety-oriented Dump Truck Driver to join our well-established, growing company. The Dump Truck Driver will be responsible for operating trucks to transport dirt, aggregate, asphalt and other materials and/or equipment to various job site locations.

Duties/Responsibilities Operates truck in safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, in the yard area and at various job sites to deliver materials. Trucks driven include but are not limited to: belly dumps, dump truck and semi-tractor truck with attached trailers.

Performs daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines. Checks fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operation. Attaches and removes pup trailers, belly dump & side dump trailers, transfer trailers and tilt/transport trailers to truck as needed.

Load and unload equipment or materials. Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle. Duties/Responsibilities Cont.

Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs. Unrolls truck tarp to cover loads when required. Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor.

Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Representative, or Human Resources Manager. Must keep vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent Must maintain a Class A/B CDL license DOT experience required Working knowledge of OSHA regulations Maintain a safe driving record Competencies Strong Relationships Ownership and Accountability Exceptionalism in all we do Travel Supervisory Reponsibility Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, frequent lifting of extensions chutes, stretching, sitting/driving, shifting gears, and covering/uncovering load when applicable. Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.

Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40 hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
