Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction based on MA State Standards.
Responsible for monitoring students' understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments, when appropriate.
Responsible for research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP.
Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies to increase student learning.
Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals.
Develops and implements Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals. Responsibilities include data collection and progress reports specific to student goals.
Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
Responsible for effective management of classroom environment.
Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
Coordinates the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP.
Requirements:
Early Childhood and Special Education DESE MA licensure. Strong skills in differentiating instruction and literacy methodology practices, bilingual skills an asset.
