Pre-Testing Department Our Pre-Testing Department is located in the Deaconess Physician Center in room 340 at our Main Campus.
Our goal is to prepare all patients for surgical or therapeutic/diagnostic procedures in order to prevent delays on the day of our patients scheduled procedure.
This appointment allows patients to have their pretesting lab, EKGs, education and pre-registration completed several days prior to their scheduled surgery/procedure.
SUMMARY OF THE JOB The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care; demonstrates the knowledge, critical thinking and judgement of and integrates the use of evidence-based outcomes for Nursing practice; supervises care delivered; coordinates plan of care; provides education for patients, families and staff, and collaborates with other disciplines.
There is not any hands on patient care with this position.
This position helps prepare patients charts and the patients for surgery.
It is all done by computer and on the phone.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduate from a nationally accredited school of professional nursing, no experience required.
If graduate of non-nationally accredited school of professional nursing, then at least one year of professional nursing experience is required.
BSN is preferred, or an education action plan in place.
Newly hired RNs on or after October 1, 2014 with five (5) years or less nursing experience are required to receive their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana required.
