Locations: CBS Jamestown/VC Dayhab
Shift: 7:00-3:30 or 8:00-4:30 depending on need
Job Schedule: Monday-Thursday

The purpose of this position is to support clients with their life to include health and personal cares, therapeutic, educational, recreational, and leisure activities for individuals with special needs to achieve maximum growth and learning as they make transitions throughout life. Provides guidance, coaching and mentors to Direct Service Professional staff on their assigned shift, solves issues and needs of both the clientele and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years' experience required:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' experience in health care field, preferably working with individuals with disabilities
Valid Driver's License
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to learn and perform personal cares, education and therapeutic programs and can learn and comprehend medical terminology
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, and problem solve effectively
Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external conflict
Understand and have basic knowledge of computer, as well as communication devices
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITES
The DSP-Team Lead must be able to demonstrate effective skills in organization, leadership, and communication skills - both oral and written. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts. Must be able to adapt to rapid change and must be able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations.
The DSP-Team Lead must be able to complete ACC's training program according to the Center's policies and procedures; must be able to learn and perform personal cares, education and therapeutic programs, and have the ability to learn and comprehend medical terminology. The incumbent must also have the ability to communicate and follow all verbal and written instructions, and problem solve effectively with clients, staff, family member, and community businesses.
The DSP-Team Lead must be able to use problem solving skills. Must be able to support, interpret, implement and communicate ACC, State, Federal policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
The DSP-Team Lead must have general knowledge of behavior management principles/procedures and be willing and able to learn more specific principles/procedures associated with behavior management and be able to assist/train staff in the implementation of the behavioral support plans.
Equipment used: Understand and have a working knowledge of Windows, Intranet and Internet technology. The DSP-Team Lead must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize, and relay information in meaningful ways using email, etc.
Assists in preparing Quarterly Summaries, Client Specific Training Packets and other client related paperwork
Creates and maintains Client Binders
Client Check-ins
Becomes Medication Assistant certified if needed
Is involved in the On-Call rotation
Provides Direct Client Care
Provides care and service according to the established ACC policies and procedures, federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
Respects and advocates for the protection of each individual's rights
Remains current regarding training, licenses and certification requirements.
Participates in the facility safety and infection control plan.
Support and adheres to the OSHA and workforce safety state and federal guidelines.
Reports needed repairs and maintenance of equipment and physical environment
Assists with the following duties in cooperation with OM, PC, Scheduler and AA
Mileage/Expense Reimbursements
Petty Cash
Flow Charting/ Daily Activity Logs
Data Collection
Med Counts
Effectively manages time and resources in the performance of their duties
Acts as a mentor for staff
Assigns a mentor staff to each new staff
Is involved in the On-Call rotation
Is the first go-to person for questions and concerns from DSPs
Talks to PCs about any concerns that arise, and helps create solutions
Diffuses emergency situations and provides Risk Management
Assists in interviews with potential new staff
May complete staff meeting minutes
Successfully completes all ACC training and educational requirements according to ACC policies.
