DSHS WSH Administrative Assistant 3
Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) is seeking an Administrative Assistant 3 to join the Department of Psychology and Rehabilitation at the Civil Center of Excellence at Western State Hospital (WSH), Lakewood, WA.
As an Administrative Assistant 3 you will report to and assist the Director of Organizational Change Management (DOCM). This position also provides direction and guidance to administrative support positions across the hospital. The position will be located onsite at Western State Hospital's campus in Lakewood, WA.
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.
This opportunity is eligible for one day of tele-work a week.
Some of what you'll do:
Provides confidential administrative assistance to the DOCM.
Assists with decision making, coordination of administrative and operational matters, and assignments related to all areas overseen by the DOCM
Tracks and monitors assignments designed by and delegated by the DOCM.
Provides confidential assistance with personnel matters as needed.
Develops and processes necessary reports; supports the DOCM in coordinating information to ensure WSH Civil Center organizational change management and communications efforts meet internal and external deadlines.
Assists in maintaining communication between the office of Organizational Change Management and other state government entities.
Composes, edits, and prepares correspondence for review by the DOCM.
Operates smoothly in a fast-paced work environment; maintains flexible and adaptable approaches regarding administrative functions.
Manages and maintains the schedule of the DOCM with priority to support leadership at WSH, BHA, and DSHS, as well as internal and external stakeholders
Coordinates daily activities and assignments
Ensures information is shared appropriately and confidentially, while demonstrating consistency and fairness in interactions with all staff.

Strong organization and administrative skills
Ability to prioritize work, find information quickly, complete work, and return to critical tasks in the midst of multiple interruptions
Ability to independently manage time and tasks
Strong sense of customer service and team orientation
Advanced experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Visio, and internet applications including familiarity with SharePoint
Effective written and oral communication skills
