The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) mission is to transform lives through providing shelter, care, protection and/or support to our state's most vulnerable population. To provide these services, DSHS collaborates with many State and Federal agencies, occupies 225 locations throughout the state, including several 24-hour facilities, and employs over 300 IT applications.

We are looking for a Journey Information Technology Vendor Manager to join the Technology Innovation Administration (TIA) Integrated Eligibility and Enrollment (IE&E) Modernization Project team. In this role, you will build the processes, procedures, and tools for managing IT contracts and vendors.

As the IT Vendor Manager, you will provide leadership at the DSHS enterprise-level in IT contract development and management, IT procurement, and enterprise licensing. This role involves overseeing the selection, negotiation, performance monitoring, and compliance management of vendors to ensure the successful delivery of IT projects and services.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate rules governing contract administration.

  • Execute the existing methodology for tracking all contract deliverables

  • Monitor, control, and report on all deliverables for management and external business partners

  • Build strong professional relationships with all program vendors that results in an efficient, collegial environment of shared responsibility for program success

  • Oversee vendor accountability and oversee each of the vendor contracts within the IE&E Modernization Program

  • Will collaborate closely with internal IT teams, procurement, and stakeholders to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality in vendor relationships

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) concepts and standards for managing IT services, development and operations

  • Advanced knowledge in vendor and contract management to advance and mature the processes and services across the IE&E Modernization Program

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess vendor performance data and make data-driven decisions

Who should apply:

Bachelor's Degree in a field that relates to information technology contract work and four years' experience in state contracting or five years' experience in private sector contracting or two years of state contracting.

OR

Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in field that relates to information technology contract work and six years' experience in state contracting or seven years' experience in private sector contracting.

OR

Three years in an IT position classified by WA State as IT Professional Structure (or previous equivalent) within the Primary Job Family of "IT Vendor Management" or "IT Policy and Planning" at the "Entry" level or higher.
