Are you an organized individual who can prioritize and meet deadlines? Join our dedicated Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration team to provide secretarial support and back up other Secretary Seniors in Seattle and Everett as needed. Job is located in Seattle, WA and an ORCA card is provided.

We need your secretarial experience to assist in our efforts to provide a continuum of preventative, rehabilitative and transition programs in residential and community settings. You will perform secretarial duties such as planning, organizing, and prioritizing work to meet internal and external deadlines.

Some of the things you will do:

  • Perform complex secretarial duties, such as, compile reports, manage data bases, and maintain office record keeping and filing systems

  • First level of contact as the front area receptionist

  • Route phone calls, take and forward messages; reschedule appointments

  • Process mail

  • Maintain calendars, schedule and confirm meetings

  • Take and distribute meeting minutes

  • Archive records following retention schedules

  • Operate standard office equipment; maintain office equipment

Who should apply?
High School graduates (or completion of GED) and have two years of progressively responsible office experience requiring keyboarding or typing.

In this role you will provide direct customer service to determine eligibility for public assistance programs. This opportunity may be filled at the Financial Services Specialist 1, 2, or 3 level. If hired as a Financial Services Specialist 1 or 2, you will progressively advance to the goal classification of Financial Services Specialist 3 after successful completion of an in-training plan. Some of what you'll do: * Determine eligibility/re-eligibility for all public assistance programs by collecting information from CSD information systems * Process all applications * Conduct intensive interviews to determine eligibility for Federal and State programs * Explain program requirements and services available * Refer clients to services and other agencies as required * Take necessary actions to ensure limited English proficient clients receive translated forms and proper translation services * Ensure production goals are met for assigned daily workload while maintaining quality standards What we're looking for: * Knowledge and ability to use a personal computer and utilize various automated computer programs * Ability to communicate, through oral and written forms of communication, with management, peers, clients and the public * Willing to work with hard to serve, chronically homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent individuals * Ability to make decisions, resolve complaints, inquiries, and customer service problems * Ability to work in a fast paced work environment, handle interruptions appropriately, and return to incomplete tasks Who should apply? Professionals with a bachelor's degree; AND Experience examining/processing loan applications, medical insurance, rehabilitation claims, or unemployment insurance claims, or in a customer service job where the major duties involve public contact, or a job providing staff support in financial eligibility determination will substitute, year for year, for education; OR One year of equivalent out-of-state experience conducting financial eligibility determination for public assistance to include financial, medical and food stamp programs. This is an In-Training opportunity for Financial Services Specialist 1, 2, or 3. These openings can be filled as a Financial Service Specialist 3 or be filled as an in training to develop the required skills within this specialized field.
