DSHS Fiscal Specialist 1
The Facilities, Finance and Analytics Administration is seeking a Fiscal Specialist 1 to join their Consolidated Business Services 2 team located in Buckley, WA at Rainier School. In this role you will assist with administering, processing, and record keeping involved with payroll, time and attendance, local funds and accounts payable for Rainier School. You will play an active role in ensuring fiscal integrity of information input into the payroll system.
Some of what you'll do:
Provide administrative support in processing and record keeping involved with payroll, time and attendance, local funds and accounts payable
Perform regular checks and balances to ensure the accuracy of time and leave transactions between timekeeping and payroll systems
Use independent judgment and analytical thinking to review, verify and apply rules and regulations as it applies to time and attendance, local fund audit findings or accounts payable
Provide consultation and technical assistance to managers, supervisors and employees on the use of local funds, procurement procedures, accounts payable and processing of leave
Daily processing of local fund transactions
Bi-monthly payroll processing of leave and attendance
Investigate and provide problem resolutions in a timely manner
What we're looking for:
Knowledge of basic accounting practices and the ability to apply practical accounting techniques
Ability to process large quantities of fiscal data with consistency, accuracy and efficiency
Excellent communications skills and be able to work with staff members at all levels
Excellent time management skills
Ability to learn and use specialized computer systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Who should apply?
Professionals with three years of fiscal record keeping work experience; Education in accounting or a related field may substitute year for year for experience.
