DSHS Fiscal Specialist 1

The Facilities, Finance and Analytics Administration is seeking a Fiscal Specialist 1 to join their Consolidated Business Services 2 team located in Buckley, WA at Rainier School. In this role you will assist with administering, processing, and record keeping involved with payroll, time and attendance, local funds and accounts payable for Rainier School. You will play an active role in ensuring fiscal integrity of information input into the payroll system.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Provide administrative support in processing and record keeping involved with payroll, time and attendance, local funds and accounts payable

  • Perform regular checks and balances to ensure the accuracy of time and leave transactions between timekeeping and payroll systems

  • Use independent judgment and analytical thinking to review, verify and apply rules and regulations as it applies to time and attendance, local fund audit findings or accounts payable

  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to managers, supervisors and employees on the use of local funds, procurement procedures, accounts payable and processing of leave

  • Daily processing of local fund transactions

  • Bi-monthly payroll processing of leave and attendance

  • Investigate and provide problem resolutions in a timely manner

What we're looking for:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices and the ability to apply practical accounting techniques

  • Ability to process large quantities of fiscal data with consistency, accuracy and efficiency

  • Excellent communications skills and be able to work with staff members at all levels

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to learn and use specialized computer systems

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Some of what you'll do * Conduct direct therapy and programs as instructed by the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) * Work with clients to increase or maintain their speech, communication, or eating/swallowing adaptive abilities and to increase their interactions with the environment * May conduct therapy in group or individual sessions * Assist SLP in conducting speech-language screening using age-appropriate screening protocols * Follow and implement treatment plans or protocols developed by SLP * Document progress toward meeting established outcomes and reporting information to SLP * Schedule therapy, treatments, assessments, screenings, and activities * Prepare charts, records, graphs and data * Develop therapy and treatment plans in accordance with Federal Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) * Participate in continuing education and para-professional development What we're looking for A bachelor's degree with a major study in speech pathology or communicative disorders OR A bachelor's degree, as evidenced by transcripts, from a speech, language, and hearing program from an approved institution of higher education OR An associate of arts or sciences degree, or a certificate of proficiency, from a speech-language pathology assistant program from an approved institution of higher education, as evidenced by the following: * Transcripts showing forty-five quarter hours or thirty semester hours of speech-language pathology coursework and * Transcripts showing forty-five quarter hours or thirty semester hours of general education credit Please be prepared to provide a copy of your college transcripts to verify degree information.
