DSHS FFA Stationary Engineer 3 - Stationary Engineer Lead - Boiler Operator Lead

We need your leadership skills to perform skilled engineering and repair work related to boiler operations at our Maple Lane facility. As a senior-level specialist, you'll apply advanced technical knowledge in the over all operation and maintenance of high pressure heating plants consisting of two or more boilers. Some of what you'll do

  • Lead and oversee the day to day work load for the steam plants

  • Supervise preventative maintenance programs and monitor daily log of activities

  • Ensures that the steam plants are repaired and maintained to meet required operation and regulatory standards set forth by TJC, CMS and Fire Marshall

  • Observe and repair gauges, meters, pumps, boilers, controls and safety equipment to insure proper and continuous overall operation of three steam generating units and hot water

  • Operate feed pumps, condensate pumps, de-aerators and emergency generator when required

  • Take the lead in ensuring that the boiler plants chemical program is being monitored and stay within specification.

  • Order and ensure all chemicals are of hand.

What we're looking for

  • Ability to lead and train employees in performing skilled steam plant work

  • Plan, layout, and assign work and give clear, concise instructions

  • Skills of the basic operation and independent monitoring of low and high pressure heating plant systems

  • Prepare and maintain basic project reports and records including the completion of work requests

  • Operate rented heavy equipment such as man lifts and boom trucks, etc.

  • Work on roofs utilizing fall arrest/restraining systems

  • Work proficiently with computer programs, MS Office, Insight, Apogee, etc.

Who should apply

Current Boiler Operator License

AND

Three years supervisory experience with power plant operations, including feed water systems, coal, gas, and fuel oil fire high-pressure boiler systems and all auxiliary equipment, water chilling systems, and related combustion controls and safety devices.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration
