The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA) at Rainier School is looking to hire a dynamic Fire Systems Specialist based in Buckley, WA!

Here you will be seen as the subject matter expert (SME) on the fire protection systems within the facility.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Independently install, inspect, test, service, maintain, and repair various control systems - i.e. mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, electrical

  • Maintain and repair appliances - i.e. P.A. system, sound system, washer, dryer, furnace, electric door opener

  • Repair & maintain electric circuitry, phone systems, clock systems, low voltage lighting, timers, remote control systems

  • Repair & replace pipe and pipe coverings

  • Maintain fife system and controls. IE: resets panels, and cleans detectors.

  • Troubleshoot and repair central supervisory control system components

We're looking for someone who has:

Completed a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade

AND

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a journey-level worker in building & equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work

AND

Able to obtain a NICET level 2 certification within 12 months

Note: Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
