The IT Data Management Senior/Specialist reports to a Senior Research Scientist leading a Research and Evaluation Center in the Research and Data Analysis Division (RDA) of the Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA). RDA is centrally positioned within DSHS to provide data, analytics, and decision support tools to improve the delivery of services that transform lives.

In this role, you will perform data management and analytic work in support of social and health service agencies. Your primary focus will be on using SAS and SQL programming languages to perform complex data management tasks and to develop and maintain complex reporting processes supporting multiple health and human service program areas. Areas of focus will include SAS-based processing of health care data and large-scale reporting of complex survey data supporting executive decision-making across multiple state agencies.

Join a dedicated and dynamic team of professionals who support the division's central database, which is fundamental to RDA research and reporting.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance several SAS-based reporting processes, including a focus on employee and client survey results

  • Under the guidance of a research lead, create outcome evaluation and program monitoring production systems integrating data from multiple health and human service data systems

  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to researchers and data managers across RDA

  • Perform complex data analysis in support of external data requests

What we're looking for:

Professionals with a bachelor's degree including 9 semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses AND 7 years of progressively more responsible IT work experience with large, complex administrative databases

OR

An associate's degree in computer science, statistical programming, or related program AND 9 years of progressively more responsible IT work experience with large, complex administrative databases.

OR
11 years as an Information Technology Data Management technician or equivalent or higher experience level technician.
