Be a part of something new! The Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility is being stood up by Washington state's Department of Social and Health Services, the Department of Children, Youth and Families, Health Care Authority with generous support from Multi-Care and Seattle Children's Hospital.

The Administrative Assistant 4 is the primary assistant to the Executive Medical Officer (EMO).  The position must make critical decisions regarding incoming requests for information, determine priorities, competing deadlines and demands for the facility and determine what issues to escalate to leadership.  The position must ensure realistic and appropriate crisis management while managing confidential information, must maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with facility staff and youth served.  The facility will open with 12 beds and 108 full-time employees with potential growth to 24 beds and 196+ full-time employees.

The property was designed with children and youth in mind and features accessible spaces for onsite educational services and therapies, as well as access to outdoor space. The voluntary facility will initially serve 12 youth.

This new therapeutic facility is slated to open in July to help youth, age 13 and older, with co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities who have complex needs such as mental illness or substance use disorder.

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Provides direct secretarial and administrative support to EMO

  • Performs administrative, office management and/or secretarial tasks for EMO but not limited to coordinating arrangements for meetings, scheduling and attending meetings, organizing materials for meetings, taking notes and producing minutes or transcribing dictated voice recordings and screening calls/visitors

  • Creates/prepares documents, correspondence, proposals, tracking logs or communications in response to program or staff needs

  • Monitoring supply needs and prepares and submit purchase requests using the TRACT e-purchasing system or the facility Product Ordering System

  • Operates the medical office and coordinates office operations

  • Serves as liaison between EMO and other staff members, coordinating information and updates to department staff on behalf of directors as requested

  • Coordinates with HR for recruitment and hiring needs

Who should apply:

Professionals with a high school diploma or GED

AND

Three years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting or general administrative work.

Formal education will substitute year for year for experience.
