DSHS BHA Registered Nurse 3 Nurse Supervisor
The Maple Lane Cascade Unit for Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) has opportunities for Registered Nurse 3s (RN3) to join our team.
We are currently hiring for two RN3 night shift positions (7:30pm
7:00am) and two RN3 dayshift positions (7am
7:30pm).
You'll be a member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for implementing a therapeutic environment/milieu through effective management of treatment strategies, proactive interventions, and monitoring of residents' behavior.
You'll work directly with residents, program staff, and agency partners and community stakeholders. You will also work with a Program Specialist to monitor and direct activities during your assigned shift, consult with leadership, and be integral to program coordination and functioning.

Some of what you will do
Analyze and evaluate the structure, process, and efficiency of service delivery, medical records documentation, and other nursing procedures
Manage medication administration and the area(s) where dispensed medications are stored
Evaluate, monitor, and order medical supplies to ensure necessary and enough are available
Support, teach, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks and the results of resident care assigned to nursing staff
Ensure that nursing staff is in attendance, capable, and competent to practice nursing
Assign work to be performed by other nursing personnel and perform staff evaluations
Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and via computer or other electronic media with residents, their families, and other healthcare personnel
Practice nursing safely and effectively in the treatment setting and within the scope of practice defined by state law and administrative code
Contribute to the Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Plan in the delivery of nursing care, defining timeframes and pathways for delivery of services, prioritizing and sequencing care to be provided, ensuring continuity of care over time and place
Who should apply?
Graduated from an accredited school of accredited professional nursing
Have a valid Washington State Registered Nurse license or the ability to obtain a valid Washington State license by the start of employment
And, 2 years experience working as a Registered Nurse
Experience working with mental health patients/residents preferred.
1 year experience working as in supervisory/charge nurse role preferred.

Ability to lead a team, supervise, and resolve personal conflicts in a calm, non-threatening manner
Proficiency in using computer-based programs
Ability to therapeutically intervene or de-escalate behavioral issues
Knowledgeable of behavioral health diagnoses and symptoms
Conduct daily tasks in a professional and ethical manner not limited to taking responsibility, mandatory reporting, accountability, professionalism, maintaining trust with team members/residents/family members/stakeholders/administration, and mutual respect for your colleagues at work
There are currently swing shifts and night shifts available. Applicants will have an opportunity to express interest in shift preference in the Supplemental Question when applying. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
