Community Field Manager -

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of residents in long-term care facilities?

Our team with Residential Care Services (RCS) within the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA), is looking for a Community Field Manager. You will be responsible for managing and supervising a group of licensors and complaint investigators as they conduct licensing inspections/surveys/evaluations and complaint investigations.  As the Field Manager, you'll oversee and supervise the work of the complaint unit to ensure that efficient and effective measurable outcomes are met in accordance with the state and federal guidelines. In addition, you will ensure that the work that the unit produces, meets the Department's mission and the division's purpose statement, strategic plan, and quality improvement vision that impacts the vulnerable individuals living in licensed or certified residential settings.

Option for alternative work schedule, 40+ hours a week, may include evening or weekend work as needed.

Hybrid role - Includes field, remote, and in-office work.

Unscheduled and scheduled travel over a large geographic area.

Some of what you'll do

  • Plan, lead, and organize the unit's workload.

  • Ensure complaint investigations and other department activities are conducted accurately and timely in accordance with state requirements.

  • Proofread, edit and provide direction to staff regarding the accuracy of written reports.

  •  Ensure staff members collect data and write reports that are outcome-based, with solid/accurate observations and the use of "plain talk" language in all written reports.

  • Assess, evaluate, and exercise clinical judgment regarding health care finding of long-term care facilities submitted by field staff.

  • Recommend enforcement actions against long-term care facilities in state and federal programs.

  • Plan workload and staff assignments including development of a master calendar for complaint investigations, and quality improvement activities.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the RCS compliance and enforcement specialists, RCS headquarters staff, providers, other Departments administrations, AAG's office, stakeholders, and other internal and external customers.

  • Experience with regulatory work and complaint investigations.

Knowledge of geriatrics, developmental disabilities, and mental illness.

  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of current practices and procedures in RCS.

  • Ability to manage and direct staff in the work unit and make key decisions regarding actions and processes followed regarding quality of care and life issues.

Who should apply

Professionals with the following:

  • Master's Degree in social work, speech pathology, occupational or physical therapy, psychology, special education, nutrition, sociology or an allied field AND at a minimum three years of experience in administrative, supervisory, consultant or teaching capacity;

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, speech pathology, occupational or physical therapy, psychology, special education, nutrition, sociology or an allied field AND at a minimum five years of experience in administrative, supervisory, consultant or teaching capacity;

OR

  • Minimum of nine years of professional/practical total experience working with delivering social and health services in a supervisory role of professional staff and demonstrates experience working with vulnerable adults and experience monitoring social and health services;

AND

  • Minimum of two years demonstrated experience in supervision and management of professional staff.

  • Minimum of two years demonstrated experience in working with the vulnerable adult population.

  • Minimum of two years demonstrated experience in the delivery and monitoring of social and health service programs;
