As a Licensor, you will be responsible for conducting onsite assisted living facility full inspections and complaint investigations following applicable state procedures.

Some of what you will do

  • Conduct state licensure full licensing inspections, complaint investigations and complete required data entry and reports (e.g.statements of deficiencies, investigation summary reports) in Assisted Living Facilities and Enhanced Services Facilities

  • Observe and interview residents, staff, and facility functions for extended periods of time

  • Make observations of resident services, residential care, and the physical environment in which the services are provided

  • Professionally communicate with team members, providers, staff, residents, and families

  • Conduct interviews with individual residents, resident family members, and other community representatives to obtain information regarding the practices of providers and residents' satisfaction with the care and services provided

  • Coordinate with Adult Protective Services, local law enforcement, Medicaid Fraud, Ombudsmen, and other state investigating agencies

  • Evaluate nursing care within the parameters of state regulations

  • Obtain information regarding residents' care and services from professional records

  • Participate in education, training, and administrative hearings

Who should apply

Professionals with a valid Washington State License to practice as a Registered Nurse

  • And a Master's degree in nursing and 2 years of RN experience in a long-term care setting

  • Or a Bachelor's degree in nursing and 3 years of RN experience in a long-term care setting

  • Or Licensed Registered Nurse in Washington State plus 5 years' experience as an RN in a behavioral health setting

Experience working directly with people in a skilled nursing facility is strongly preferred for this role. This job will require travel throughout Snohomish, Skagit, Island, San Juan, and Whatcom counties to meet business needs. A work schedule of office and remote work is available for this role.

  • Ability to evaluate services in long term care facilites, interpret rules, and maintain effective working relationships

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of institutional nursing services; public health and professional nursing fields in long term care facilities; community organization and resources; organization; administration and supervision; and research and study methods social skills, time management skills, investigative and interviewing techniques, and report writing

  • Ability to evaluate institutional nursing services; exercise objective judgment; stimulate local cooperation and support for effective nursing service; bring about improved practices

  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position

  • Ability to maintain an objective, professional and respectful demeanor with difficult persons and events

  • Ability to remain calm when being confronted, and develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others; ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, residents, and the public; communicate findings to nursing home management orally and in writing in a clear, concise manner
