For candidates based in New York State, this position starts at $29.60 per hour.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, will ensure all DSD routes are covered, checking the quality, and delivering the product along the assigned delivery routes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying of product.

• Responsible for the safe operation of the Company vehicle while complying with all company, State and Federal regulations.

• Have a good working knowledge of the assigned delivery route and be familiar with product handling requirements.

• Must represent the Company in a courteous, ethical, and professional manner at all times.

• Must keep a vehicle operation log and report any necessary maintenance or other problems to the Transportation Manager.

• Deliver all products ordered in a timely manner and advise the Transportation Manager of any recommendations for improvements or problems needing attention on a daily basis.

• Responsible for moving equipment to and from maintenance facilities.

• Perform equipment inspections and maintenance including but not limited to washing of tractors, trailers and equipment.

• Backup to the Transportation Manager on nights and weekends for trailer breakdowns.

• Unload and check the quality products at a customer location, rotate and check the quality of products.

• Handles any customer complaints professionally.

• Handles company equipment properly, follows written driver safety rules, and performs a pre-trip and post-check inspection.

• Must be a cooperative team player and work with drivers, customers, managers, supervisors and peers.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

• Execute assigned duties with minimal supervision.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Current, valid CDL-A driver's license.

• Maintain a satisfactory MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).

• Maintain an up-to-date medical card and DOT (Department of Transportation) exam.

• Mechanical knowledge highly preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Reading and writing proficiency and ability to identify colors.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.

• Know the product delivery schedule.

• Ability to multitask and work as a team.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent moving of product up to 50 pounds during the shift; infrequent moving up to 80 pounds.

• Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck.

• Frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling.

Work Environment:

• Cold warehouse environment.

• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot weather, rain, and extremely cold temperatures).

• Have open availability to back-up DSD Drivers.
