Trideum Corporation is currently seeking Trainers/ Instructors for classes supporting Defense Support of Civilian Activities (DSCA) to support U.S. Army North (USARNORTH) at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon assignments and other factors.

Overview:
Trideum has a requirement for planning and executing the Department of Defense (DOD) DSCA Course on behalf of United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). The mission of the DSCA Course is to empower military forces, DOD civilians, contractor personnel, federal agencies, and their components, to successfully plan, coordinate, and execute DSCA operations according to established principles. These principles are based on specific national, state, local, DOD statutes, directives, and doctrine to form the foundation for the DOD response to domestic emergencies and designated law enforcement actions.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Maintain concurrency of the Government provided programs of instruction(POI)

  • Assist with classroom setup, breakdown, loading and unloading of classroom, Audio video (AV), and Information Technology (IT) instruction and for student registration

  • Determine and coordinate necessary audio/visual support items or training aids required to produce and deliver resident classroom and distance learning instruction

  • Screen, register and schedule military, DoD civilian, local, state and federal agency employee participants into the Defense Support to Civil Authorities Course (DSCA) Phase II Resident Course

  • Compose and Email acceptance letters to prospective students

  • Provide graduation documents/course completion certificates to Army and non-Army students to document completion to their agencies

  • Meet students, confirm course registration and assist students with course administration

  • Prepare course demographics report for each course

  • Assist Government Course Coordinator to schedule and coordinate classroom facilities

  • teach students how to plan and execute DSCA response operations using methods that include:

  • Classroom Lecture

  • Small group discussion

  • Case Studies

  • Table Top Exercises

  • Serve as the Phase II resident course coordinator responsible for planning, coordinating and leading the DSCA class arrange for the attendance and support of guest speakers for the courses, evaluate the relevancy of their contributions to the knowledge base, and perform appropriate follow up actions

  • Support DSCA Mobile Training Teams and single day DSCA seminar instruction

  • Maintain, update, and remove online content currently delivered via web-based training products, social media, and video network training technologies as necessary in order to ensure relevant and current content

  • Evaluate the results of training and instruction with examinations at the undergraduate and graduate-level of instruction

  • Conduct course hot washes, analyze student surveys and prepare course After Action Reports (AARs) to improve the quality and relevancy of the program of instruction

  • Research, prepare and distribute the DSCA course newsletter and its continuing education updates

Qualifications and Experience:

Required-

  • Must have not less than three years of DSCA operational experience within the last seven years at the JTF and/or Defense Coordinating Element level.

  • Complete the ARNORTH Instructor Certification Program

  • Must have not less than two years of previous military classroom instruction experience and, prior to serving as DSCA Instructors, pass the ARNORTH instructor certification program.

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred

  • Experience as an instructor for DSCA Training

  • Former experience working in a military environment

  • Completion of the ARNORTH DSCA Training and instructor certification

Security:

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance

Topics are primarily in child welfare and human services delivery but also include training on federal policies and procedures and tracking systems. * Candidates should live within commuting distance of the shelter location or be willing to be deployed to the shelter. These are part-time on call assignments that may last 2 - 4 months but can be extended. Notification of assignment will be 2-4 weeks prior to the start date. Conducts onsite training sessions and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training activities. 2. Coordinates logistics for instruction events; including scheduling classes; reserving classrooms and preparing workstations. 3. Maintains training plans and records of training activities; participant progress and program effectiveness. 4. May assist in the development; establishment and updating of course content and objectives. 5. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. 6. Provides technical assistance in identified special topic areas. 7. Attends necessary orientations/trainings prior to deployment. 8. Participates in special projects as required. 9. Remains onsite during training deployment periods. Education Bachelor's Degree; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work/military experience. Qualifications 1-3 years of directly related experience in course instruction. PREFERRED EDUCATION * Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science. * Experience and education specific to work with children and adolescents; immigrant populations; case management; residential programs; and training of staff. * Experience with web-based learning; development and/or evaluation of training curriculums.
