Summary Tapes joints between plasterboard or other wallboards to prepare wall surface for painting or papering by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Rolls out power cords and checks out tools and equipment needed for daily tasks
Inventories materials, tools and equipment at the beginning and end of shift
Cuts out and pre-fills damaged areas on finished walls with hot mud
Mixes joint compound by hand with stomper or with an electric drill with beater bar
Tapes over flats, butts and angles by hand or with mechanical applicator
Spreads and smoothes compound material over taped flats, butts and angles surface
Spots screws with joint compound
Installs cornerbead to all corners then sands and flush coats
Sands rough spots after compound has dried
Applies flush coat of compound
Sands rough spots after compound has dried
Touches up any nicks, dings, scuffs or pin holes
Applies primer to walls and ceiling preparatory to final finishing
Applies texturing compound to walls and ceiling preparatory to final finishing
Cleans up all mechanical tools on a daily basis to keep in proper working condition
Cleans up all excessive spills of compound on floors
Stocks materials as required
Must have knowledge of industrial standards

Safety glasses and ear plugs are required to be worn on the job site at all times.
