Impact Housing is quickly becoming the most active developer of housing in Southern California, by deploying our mission-driven, vertically integrated housing production and activation model. POSITION SUMMARY
The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and experience in the trade. We're looking for people to lead in one of the two phases of the construction process.
Either "Phase One" which is everything from foundation through drywall or "Phase Two" which is everything past the drywall to completion of the home.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential skills
Knowing and understanding blueprints, building plans and specifications.
Framing floors, walls, roofs, and decks.
Install sub-flooring and and underlayment.
Installing mechanical, electrical & plumbing rough & finish materials.
Installing windows and exterior doors.
Excavations on small foundations and pads (a plus).
Form and pour small foundations and pads (a plus).
Clean and inspect work areas.
Helping erect scaffoldings and/or ladders.
Essential skills for phase two (finish).
Install hardware on doors, windows, and cabinets.
Patch and texture drywall.
Caulking and touching up.
Installing cabinetry, millwork, and interior doors..
Finish plumbing & electrical.
Painting
Install and connect
Clean and inspect work areas.
Supervise all work done by subs and internal teams.
Education:
Duties and Responsibilities
Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter saw, and jigsaw.
Possession of basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites.
Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 80 pounds.
Knowledge of lumber grades, hardware, rough & finish materials.
Demolition of rough carpentry framing & sheathing that is not permanent within the delivered stair and elevator modules.
Repair of damaged modules (damaged during transport).
Nailing, stitching, sheathing, and strapping of modules that are not completed by mod set or rough carpenter.
Temporary framing and supports for the man hoist.
Assist rough carpentry subcontractor and site Superintendent with the layout of still plates (quality control).
Assist concrete subcontractor & site Superintendent with the installation of anchor bolts (quality control)
Minor dens glass installation and repair.
Minor drywall removal and repair.
Minor window removal and replacement
Temporary or permanent wood fence or safety guardrail repairs or installations.
Miscellaneous rough carpentry demo, repair, and installations.
Required Skills/Abilities
Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter saw, and jigsaw.
Ability to follow instructions from Supervisor and Senior Managers.
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Home improvement, construction, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and site planning experience preferred.
Work Authorization
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 80 lbs.; includes body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes.

Competitive hourly range of $20-25 depending on skills and experience
