Drupal/Php Developer - Remote

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a dedicated Drupal/PHP Developer to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This REMOTE position involves upgrading several of our key applications from Drupal 9 to Drupal 10 and from PHP 8.0 to PHP 8.1. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Drupal and PHP development, with proven experience in managing and executing software upgrades.

Responsibilities:

• Upgrade and maintain applications in Drupal, transitioning from version 9 to 10.

• Update the PHP version of applications from 8.0 to 8.1, ensuring compatibility and stability.

• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and implement functional changes required by the upgrade.

• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to optimize performance.

• Maintain documentation for system configurations, database processes, and upgrade protocols.

• Assist in the resolution of any compatibility issues between older and newer versions of software.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or supplemented with related experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in web development with a strong focus on Drupal and PHP.

• Proficient in Drupal 8/9, with a keen understanding of the architecture, APIs, and custom modules.

• Experience in migrating to Drupal 10 is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of PHP 8.0+ and experience in upgrading PHP versions.

• Familiarity with SQL databases, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and version control systems like Git.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Good communication skills and the ability to handle project management tasks.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Fully remote position

• $45/hr - $65/hr depending on years of experience - including health, dental, and vision insurance.
